Eligibility and Application
If you’re a Castle Rock water customer and you’ve identified a leak leading to excessive water usage charges in tier 3 or the surcharge tier, you may be eligible to apply for a leak adjustment. Here are the key details:
Once per 12‑month period
Only one leak adjustment is allowed within a rolling 12‑month window.
Lower‑tiered rate
Approved adjustments let you pay for leaked water at a lower, more affordable rate.
Pay initial balance first
You must pay the full original bill before applying for an adjustment.
Submit within 60 days
Applications must be submitted within 60 days of the leak repair date.
Proof of repair required
You’ll need to provide receipts or documentation that the leak has been fixed.
The Application Process
Getting started is straightforward. Follow these steps to request your leak adjustment:
1
Contact Castle Rock’s Leak Adjustment Program at 303-660-1373. They will guide you through the necessary steps and provide the required forms.
2
Submit your completed application along with proof of repair (e.g., plumber’s invoice, material receipts).
3
Castle Rock reviews your case. If approved, a credit will be applied to your account for the water used during the leak period, recalculated at the lower tiered rate. This can significantly reduce the financial burden of a high water bill.
This program is designed to help customers recover from unexpected leaks without the full financial shock of tier‑3 or surcharge rates.
