Water Leak Detection Projects

Actionable Results!
It's always rewarding to see the results of our leak detection work in action! While we may not always be present when plumbers or excavators perform the necessary repairs, the photos and videos from our customers provide a glimpse of the impact of our investigations.
At Subsurface Leak Detection of Colorado, our mission is to efficiently locate and pinpoint leaks, ensuring that the right steps are taken to resolve water-related issues. We take pride in our work, and these images and videos serve as a testament to our commitment to providing top-notch leak detection services.
If you have a water leak issue in Colorado Springs, Denver Metro, or the surrounding areas, don't hesitate to contact us at Colorado Springs (719) 749-6850 Denver Metro (303) 520-0778
Here's a collection of some of the photos and videos we've received from the field before and after leaks were exposed, showcasing the value of our leak detection services.
Denver International Airport
RS&H, a nationally recognized engineering, consulting, and architecture firm, engaged Subsurface Leak Detection as a specialized sub-consultant to support multiple leak detection and water intrusion investigations at Denver International Airport. These investigations addressed persistent water intrusion into a structure located directly beneath a recently rehabilitated roadway—an environment involving complex construction interfaces, sensitive infrastructure, and limited tolerance for disruption.
Subsurface Leak Detection deployed a non-invasive, multi-technology investigative approach utilizing tracer gas diagnostics, thermal imaging, and advanced building envelope testing methodologies to evaluate subsurface conditions, structural interfaces, and potential migration pathways.
Through controlled testing and precision diagnostics, our team was able to isolate and confirm the specific defects responsible for the water infiltration. The results provided RS&H and project stakeholders with clear, defensible findings that supported targeted corrective action—eliminating unnecessary demolition while minimizing operational impact within an active airport environment.

RHP Communities Across America
RHP Communities, the largest private operator of manufactured home communities in the United States, has made a significant investment in water conservation initiatives across its nationwide portfolio. Subsurface Leak Detection has been a trusted partner in this effort, supporting leak detection projects in Colorado, Wisconsin, Kansas, Texas, and Indiana.
Our team has successfully identified major system leaks across multiple communities, resulting in substantial reductions in non-revenue water loss. Most recently, Subsurface Leak Detection located a critical failure that reduced water loss from an estimated 80% down to approximately 20%, creating an immediate and measurable impact on conservation outcomes. These results demonstrate the value of effective technical partnerships focused on real-world water savings.
While Subsurface Leak Detection specializes in all types of residential, commercial, and municipal leak detection, manufactured home communities—because of their unique infrastructure, private utility systems, and complex distribution networks—have become a distinct area of expertise and a recognized specialty within our firm.

University of Colorado Boulder
Subsurface Leak Detection has partnered with Martin & Martin, a leading civil engineering firm, to support the University of Colorado Boulder’s water conservation initiatives. As part of this effort, Artisan Consulting is conducting a comprehensive, campus-wide water survey focused on the older portions of the underground infrastructure to identify active and concealed leaks.
This large-scale investigation is being performed primarily using advanced acoustic leak detection technologies, allowing for non-invasive assessment across extensive and complex systems. As with many aging—or historically developed—campus utilities, limited documentation exists regarding underground routing and conditions, creating challenges that require a specialized, experienced team.
This project represents exactly the type of complex subsurface environment where Artisan Consulting’s technical capabilities, investigative methodology, and field expertise deliver the greatest value.
